Kits are how we started but it is no longer what Jersey2Africa is all about.
Whilst supplying unwanted quality football kits to Africa (we have supplied well more than two tonnes in 10 years) football kits per se are limited in their impact. Post Covid and post Brexit they are also ever increasingly problematic and expensive to transport, so we must be selective on what we can and cannot accept by way of kit donations and generally speaking full team kits are of the greatest benefit and value to justify the logistics and costs involved. Of great support in this regard are business travellers to Africa who offer surplus luggage capacity for transportation of selected team kits.

Jersey 2 Africa have developed a fantastic partnership with Alive & Kicking, a Not-for-Profit ball manufacturer who operate various factories in Africa making handmade, hand stitched leather branded footballs specifically designed for sustainability on rough African terrain. Jersey 2 Africa have sourced and distributed over 1,200 footballs since joining forces with AK in 2015. Sponsoring or donating footballs is the simplest way that an individual or organisation can Make a Difference. You help the factory and support the workers, you give playing opportunities to players and you see exactly where your donation or contribution has gone.
A Kit serves a single footballer. A Ball serves several footballers. A Pitch serves a whole community of footballers.
Jersey 2 Africa in partnership with the UEFA Foundation for Children is aiming in the next 1-3 years to facilitate the installation of an eco-friendly small sided football pitch in collaboration with one of it’s African football partners Vijana Amani Pamoja (known as VAP). Such a pitch would be the first of it’s kind in Kenya. Subject to the financial support of the UEFA Foundation, Jersey 2 Africa would have to raise in the region of €40,000-50,000 through a number of fund raising initiatives. We will absolutely require your support to achieve this!
